Welcome
Interbeing is a term coined by Thich Nhat Hanh, which describes the concept of interconnectedness and mutual dependence of all things, meaning that nothing exists in isolation. It is a Buddhist philosophy suggesting that everything exists in a state of "co-being" and is interwoven with everything else in the universe. For example, a flower inter-is with the sunshine and soil, or a piece of paper is made of non-paper elements like sunshine, clouds, and the logger who cut the trees.
Welcome to the Gathering of Interbeing website. This is a place to share information about gatherings and events that I and my co-creators are offering to meet these times.
Meeting the Moment
Clearly, in these days we are experiencing large forces ( both in nature and our psyches), undigested trauma, and a great deal of anger and fear are moving through the collective. When the collective field is so disturbed it calls for a collective response.
Deeper Questions
Mainstream responses of protest and political action are one way to respond to this collective crisis, but ….
How do we also address the deeper underlying patterns and charges that shape the way we think, and move through the world and that ultimately create culture?
How can we, together, heal and transform these energies and use that creative power to shape the world of our creation into a culture that arises from love?
We are seeing so much of the wound of humanity, how do we bring the medicine?
Timeless Answers
Thankfully, we have inherited many tools and practices that can serve us well in these times. At our root and throughout the world, ceremony is the way that communities have wholistically held and realigned the society and human beings place in the wider world of all life. What are the ceremonies that we, as a diverse community can create together to meet this moment in this place?
Gatherings of Interbeing
Gatherings of Interbeing experiences are cocreated to cultivate an embodied sense of connection with all beings and to bring forth our deepest visions from the heart and soul.
Our first Gatherings are called Drumming in the Dream and are free to the public

Art as Ceremony and Prayer
We are asking folks from all over the country to make a banner that reflects their vision for the US. They will be hung like prayer flags, along with feathers and crystals, to carry the visions of those who gather that day.
Participants will also be invited to create group mandalas, a visual representation of our collective consciousness in a contemplative, intentional manner. Through this process, symbolism & structure support us in expressing the ineffable aspects of our deepest longings, grounded in remembrance, beauty, and hope.
Then we will drum to empower, uplift and send out our visions.
So! Are you willing? Would you love to make a banner?
We would love it if you would!
